Camper vans, unlike motorhomes, are characterised, not only by having a van appearance, but also by having a smaller size, without having to give up any features. This makes campers much more discreet and versatile vehicles. This versatility translates not only into more facilities when it comes to finding parking but also into facilities when it comes to finding a good place to sleep where they go unnoticed. <\/p>

To begin with, it should be borne in mind that as long as it is not expressly prohibited, sleeping in a camper should not cause you any headaches. There are many possible places to spend the night. It’s just a matter of finding yours! <\/p>

Things to consider:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Once verified that there is no prohibition or restriction on parking and there is the possibility of overnight stays, our advice is the preference for sleeping in crowded places and motorhome skills, where they exist, such as free (or paid) motorhome areas rather than isolated stalls.<\/li>
  • You can consult apps<\/strong>, such as Park4Night or Caramaps, or websites<\/strong>, such as AreasAc, to more easily locate the places enabled for overnight stays.<\/li>
  • If in doubt, you will always be welcome at campsites and motorhome areas. In addition, they offer you a whole series of services such as water, toilets, showers, electricity connection and emptying of grey and black water that can be very useful. <\/li>
  • For safety, on the street or in isolated areas it will be an area to avoid. However, if there is nothing to prevent you, it is a choice that you should consider yourself. <\/li>
  • Once you have chosen the place to sleep in a motorhome, it is necessary to be respectful of others, you will not have to cause inconvenience and you will not take up more space than you need. Another traveler may need it to park or spend the night. <\/li><\/ul>

    In the morning, don’t forget to leave the place as clean or cleaner than when you found it!<\/p>

    Places we recommend you avoid:<\/strong><\/p>

    • The service areas of motorways and dual carriageways are a very bad place to spend the night in a motorhome. Truck drivers themselves suffer many robberies in this type of place. Avoid them at all costs. <\/li>
    • Weather conditions can change quickly. Keep in mind that the wind has a significant effect on campers, as they have large surfaces. Also, do not stand under trees or other places where objects can detach that could hit the motorhome (such as branches, buildings in poor condition, stones, etc.). It will be easy for them to break the window, a skylight or solar panels. <\/li>
    • Sandy areas. Maybe on arrival you think it’s a nice place but in the morning you might not be able to leave. Keep in mind that campers are not 4\u00d74 vehicles prepared for the sand. <\/li>
